The specialty of Oral Medicine and Radiology has taken a new shape during the recent years. The department reflects the progress of the specialty in itself beginning from the conventional investigation and treatment modalities to most advanced digital radiographic units. The clinical scope of Oral Medicine is extremely broad and there is close liaison with other clinical specialties of Medicine. Keeping these fundamental responsibilities in mind, our Department fosters the development of dental graduates and postgraduates with adequate knowledge, necessary skills & reasonable attitude which are required for carrying out all activities appropriate to general dental practice involving basic and advanced education in Oral Medicine and maxillofacial Radiology for an improved understanding of all oral and maxillofacial pathologies, for appropriate diagnosis, investigation and management of oromucosal lesions, chronic orofacial pain states, temporomandibular disorders, maxillofacial pathologies, and oral manifestations of medically compromised and systemic diseases.

In radiology, training in detail about the techniques and interpretation of intraoral and extra oral radiographs and radiographic diagnosis of the maxillofacial pathologies is provided.
