Department of Community Dentistry
Overview
The department is dedicated to the prevention and control of dental diseases and promotion of oral health as Prevention is better than cure. The department conducts camps and oral health education programmes in various schools, institutions, primary healthcare centers and public and private sector undertakings in rural as well as urban areas. The main attraction of the department is a museum where charts and models have been established for patient education and better understanding of oral health and various treatments available. The department is equipped with a mobile dental van which includes one dental chair with all attachments and seating capacity of 20 people. The department is supported by clinical physiology, haematology and biochemistry laboratories.

Department of Public Health Dentistry believes in oral health promotion and prevention of dental diseases through organized community efforts. Public Health Dentistry department organized numerous outreach programs, awareness programs to reach out people of all socio-economical class, specially urban slums and remote villages to educate, motivate, reinforce positive health and provide basic treatments at their door steps to bring appreciable changes in their oral health. The department is provided with well equipped, state of art mobile dental van, through which our confident and enthusiastic budding dentists serve dental treatment to people at the camp sites. The department has satellite clinic at Mother Theresa Charitable Hospital, Uplaon village which is consistently managing patients by providing basic dental treatments to needy people.
